Open House for County Energy Independence Program

New offices at in west Santa Rosa provides resources, rebates, incentives, contractors, information and financing options for homeowners

The Sonoma County Energy Independence Program offices, which helps property owners with clean energy funding, solar PV installation, and other services,  will be hosting an Open House to celebrate their new location and fourth anniversary on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The Open House will be at 2300 County Center Drive, Suite A105 in Santa Rosa, with a a ribbon-cutting event at 5:00 pm. Program staff will offer office tours, program information, and complimentary appetizers and beverages.

The Energy Independence Program was launched on March 25, 2009 and is celebrating four years of operation. The Program provides resources, rebates, incentives, contractors, information and financing options to help property owners save energy, save money, and live comfortably.

In the past four years, the Program has:

  • Provided $61.7M in Property Assessed Clean Energy (P.A.C.E.) project funding
  • Financed the installation of 8.5 MW in Solar PV in the County
  • Supported local jobs in 86% of financed projects
  • Supported the creation and or retention of 745 private sector jobs
  • Delivered over 200 community education and outreach events
  • Provided a free building performance tool lending library to qualified contractors
  • Developed and provided on-line resources and engagement for information on energy efficiency, water conservation and renewable power generation

Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Chair David Rabbitt commented, “The new location allows Program staff to work more efficiently to better serve customers and improve access for the public. The new office space is shared with the County’s Energy Watch and Energy & Sustainability Programs. It is a one-stop shop for energy efficiency options and is close to other County services.”

The public is encouraged to attend the Open House event, or stop by the Energy Independence Program’s new office any weekday between 8:00 am -5:00 pm, excluding County holidays.
