Thanks, Miss Passalacqua, For Being a Great Teacher

Healdsburg residents recall their most memorable teachers for National Teacher Appreciation Day.

Everyone has a teacher who has touched their life in a memorable way. If you're lucky, you had more than one.

Today is National Appreciation Day, and we asked readers on Facebook who their most memorable teachers were. 

"Miss Passalacqua at Fitch mountain school!" said Tina Robertson. "She was my all-time favorite!!!"

There have been several teachers named "Miss Passalaqua" in town. Joan Passalacqua was a long-time elementary school teacher in Healdsburg, but she taught at Alexander Valley School and Westside Elementary. She passed away in 2012.

Veteran educator Sandi Passalacqua started and now runs the privately-funded The Healdsburg School.
