YouTube videos: Stay indoors this weekend due to higher radiation levels

Observers monitoring jet stream post videos showing plume with elevated radiation levels hitting Alaska, Vancouver and California Saturday and Sunday

A smattering of videos on YouTube this weekend are showing the jet stream from Japan as carrying more radiation toward the West Coast than has been noted before.

Attached is one of the videos, which advises people to stay indoors this weekend to avoid exposure.

Patch will be following this story closely over the next week.

Thank you for posting the radiation warning Healdsburg Patch. This at least warns people that there is a problem so they can obtain more detailed information, or choose to play it safe indoors. It took courage to go against the mainstream media norm.

The intent here is simply to be able to ask the question...we live in a society where we're allowed to raise questions. We don't really know if there's a radiation exposure risk at the moment, or if there was one over the weekend. But simply being able to raise the question is an act of knowledge and empowerment for all of us...

This warning carries no specifics. What levels of radiation are expected? I work at a hospital and check the radiation detector there daily. Since the Japan incidents have begun I have seen no readings above normal background--averaging 2.5 microrems/hr with a range betwen 2.1 and 3.0 microrems/hr.

Government agencies have been measuring these levels and reporting that you don’t have to worry as everything is under complete control. However, the scientists and university students are demonstrating a different version. They are actually measuring high levels of toxic radiation in our food and water supply that are hazardous to human health. And they are increasing every day. We already that what the “experts” have told us is just not true.

They told us in the middle of March that we had nothing to worry about with the Japanese Nuclear Reactor possibly leaking or exploding, that they had it under complete control. Those same people that were hiding the truth now want us to believe that “radiation poisoning” should be nothing to worry about for the average person.” I don’t buy it! I don't think they are really after the best interests of the "average person", and if you value you and your families health, you shouldn’t buy it either. I'd stay inside or get a detector and find out if and when it's safe to be outdoors.

@Homeopathy: Thanks very much. Another Healdsburg Patch reader sent in this link: http://geigercounter.com
It includes University of California at Berkeley measurements.
The reader states: "These stations utilize probes incorporating “2 inch pancake gm tubes” which are sensitive to alpha, beta, gamma and x-radiation. Average background readings vary from 16 to 60 CPM (Counts per Minute), depending on altitude and natural soil composition. Horizontal scale shows time in hours. Vertical scale shows radiation level in CPM."
