Dear Healdsburg Hand Fan Museum: Are You Still Open? Your Fans Want To Know!

Tourists from Arizona are thinking of traveling to Healdsburg to see, for one thing, the Healdsburg Hand Fan Museum, the only of its kind in the entire U.S.

But the listed phone number is disconnected, so they are unsure about making the trip, they said today.

We tried another number, as well, and no luck with that one, either.

Some folks who work nearby believe the museum is still in operation, possibly on only select days or by appointment.

So perhaps the phone number has simply changed.

The museum boasts an impressive historic collection of some 3,000 hand fans, and has listings on such tourist sites as RoadsideAmerica.com and 101 Things To Do In The Wine Country.

If anyone knows anything, please let us know ... so we can pass along the info to the hand-fan fans!

The Hand Fan Museum is currently doing some minor renovations, but open by appointment with the curator Pamela Sher. If you would like an appointment to see the current exhibit please e-mail pam4sher@gmail.com.

It's great little museum, moved to a better location a year or so ago on Healdsburg Ave between the Chamber of Commerce and H2 Hotel.
