Hot Jazz and Voodoo Blues in the Plaza Tonight

It's time for another Tuesday Concert in the Plaza, and the Parks & Rec folks have lined up a winner (again) for us tonight, with Slim Jenkins and their "Hot Jazz & Voodoo Blues."

According to SF Gate, the group of five has just released their first CD, "Burnt Toast and Black Coffee." The group is fronted by Justin Oliver on vocals with Felix Macnee, drums, Timothy Vickers, bass, Joel Martinez, guitar, and Byron Burchard, sax.

What, no Slim? According to the band, the group was named after one of the  hottest nightclubs in Oakland in the 1940s and beyond.

Thanks to tonight's concert sponsors,  Villaggio Dental and Sally & Joe Briggs

Food Vendors 5:00 - 8:00 PM are located on Plaza Street. Visit your local favorite including Healdsburg Charcuterie, diVine Pizza, Mateo’s Cocina Latina, Mountain Mike’s Pizza, Sizzling Tandoor, Taverna Sofia and The Wurst to choose from a wide variety of food.

In order to protect Plaza Park and ensure the enjoyment of the concert for everyone, the city asks that we note the following rules:

  • If you choose to set up chairs and blankets for the concert, please do so after 4 p.m. on the day of the concert.
  • Chairs and blankets left unattended prior to 4 pm will be removed.
  • Please leave pets at home.
  • In compliance with Sonoma County Health Department regulations, animals must be kept 20 ft. away from the food vendor booths.

Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the concert.
