It's a Busy Week in Healdsburg

Three literary events, two city meetings and more.

1. Tuesday Music in the Plaza. Rick Estrin &The Nightcats, playing blues/roots (see flyer at right)

2. Planning Commission Meeting, also Tuesday. On the agenda “Public Hearing Land Use Code Amendments.”  401 Grove St. 6pm

3. Fiber Artistry is now showing at the Healdsburg Center for the Arts. This textile showcase features the work of 13 fiber artists. Now through Aug. 1, 130 Plaza St. Open daily 11am–5pm

4. There’s not one, not two, but three literary events this week in Healdsburg. First up, Tues., July 12, the Literary Café presents Ransom Stephens. Stephens will read from his works. Tues., July 12, 7–9pm, Healdsburg Senior Center 133 Matheson St. Open mic follows (see flyer at right)

5. Now, let’s “Crank up the tension” as Healdsburg Literary Laureate Stefanie Freele presents a Ransom Stephens workshop. Bean Affair, 1270 Healdsburg Ave. 10–noon. Quill.ink.productions@gmail.com

6. Another City meeting: Parks and Recreation Commission On the agenda: Introduction and welcome to newly appointed parks and recreation commissioner, Joe Lickey. Wed., July 13, 6pm, 401 Grove St.

7. Bastille Day Concert in Healdsburg? It’s a musical celebration of the French National Holiday, Thurs., July 14  1:30pm–3:30pm 417 Healdsburg Ave.

8. Simi’s Keep on Truckin’ Wednedays. The trucks will be hot and so will the food. A can’t-miss food truck event. (Taste the cupcakes. Oh, yum.) Certain purchases benefit the Healdsburg Food Pantry. Along Healdsburg Avenue in front of Simi Winery, 16275 Healdsburg Ave.

9. The Healdsburg Literary Guild presents Terry Ehret, “writer, teacher, laureate, and literary community leader.” Healdsburg Senior Center, 133 Matheson St. Sun., July 17, 1:30 open mic sign up; program 2:00pm followed by open mic session (see flyer at right)
