Saturday's Hopping in H-Town!

There's no shortage of things to do this weekend!

1. Russian River Chamber Music presents the San Francisco Piano Trio. From RRC’s website, “This newly formed ensemble features the extraordinary young German violinist Axel Strauss, acclaimed French cellist Jean-Michel Fonteneau and well known Bay Area pianist Jeffrey Sykes. They will perform Haydn’s Trio in E-Flat Minor, Beethoven’s Trio in D Major “Ghost”, and the Trio by Maurice Ravel.”  Healdsburg Community Church. Informal interview with the artists 7:00pm; Event; 7:30pm; Free - donations welcome.

2.  Salmon for dinner? The 4th Annual Healdsburg Wild Steelhead Festival kicks off with the WILD Salmon Dinner at the Villa Chanticleer in Healdsburg. Guest speaker Lani Waller, a fly-fisherman, prepared to tell great fish stories. Tickets and merchandise here. 5:30 – 10:00pm

3.  Something sure is fishy around here! The 4th annual Healdsburg Wild Steelhead Festival is rocking in the Healdsburg Plaza.  There will be a trout pond for young anglers, fly-fishing with the pros, fish cooking demos and more! 10:00am – 4:00pm

4.  Love is in the air—and in Healdsburg Regional Library’s Conference room. Fourteen poets (including me) will be offering a feast of love poems and Valentine’s treats in the Healdsburg Literary Guild’s traditional Poetry Valentine, an annual love-gift to the community.  Pick up a copy of the limited edition Valentine chapbook, LOVE, for only $6.00 (makes a great and affordable Valentine’s gift).  All proceeds benefit the Healdsburg Literary Guild, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. 2:00pm

5.  “Art Central Healdsburg” (aka HCA) is offering yet another show for our visual delight.  The Harvey Brady opening reception is tomorrow. From the Healdsburg Center for the Arts e-mail, “Local artist Harvey Brody…has exhibited his work throughout the states for the past several decades. The art center is proud to present a new body of work of large abstract paintings on paper that are dynamic and intriguing.”  130 Plaza Street 5 – 7pm
