What’s up and what’s new this Mon., Dec. 6

Free fun for little ones, HHS girls' b-ball, a call for cat cuddlers and a City County/RDA meeting are all on today's agenda.

1. Healdsburg High Hounds Freshman and Junior Varsity Girls' Basketball teams play home games this afternoon at HHS's Smith Robinson Gym against Elsie Allen.  Stop by and support high school sports at 4:30 and 6pm.

2. Calling algebra aficionados.  Make a difference for seventh and eighth graders at Healdsburg Junior High. The after-school Algebra Skill Building Program is looking for volunteers for this popular student help class.  For those with algebraic chops and time to help call 573-3399 x122

3.  Healdsburg Animal Shelter has an immediate need for volunteers. ​  Cat cuddlers, dog walkers, fund raisers and even web designers all can find a niche. Opportunities and application.

4.  Healdsburg City Council and Redevelopment Agency joint meeting tonight.  On the agenda: selection of mayor and vice mayor effective Jan. 1, amending the zoning ordinance to add Section18150 Historic Demolition Permits and a resolution approving the July 30, 2009 Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Syar Property Recycled Wastewater Agricultural Irrigation Project.  401 Grove St. 6pm. 

5. Free fun!  Children's Holiday Program - Stories, Songs and Hot Chocolate at Healdsburg Regional Library.  Kick of the festive season, if you haven't already, with readings by local Roar of a Snore author, Marsha Dianne Arnold and local poet, Gail Larrick. Corner of Piper and Center Sts. 6:30 pm. 433-3772
