What's Up Now?

Wrestling, football sign-ups, a crab feed and more -- starting today.

1.. Healdsburg Bulldog and Cheerleader sign-ups open this weekend!  The Bulldogs are looking for enough youngsters to complete five teams ages 7 – 15 years.  Sign-ups for returning players, siblings and referrals, Sun., Mar. 6  10:00am – 2:00pm. All other sign-ups Mar. 13, Apr. 10, and Jun. 5. Los Bulldogs quieren jugadores de fútbol Americano y porristas, también! Quieren completar 5 equipos de niños entre 7 – 15 años de edad. Jugadores regresando, hermanos y referidos. Domingo 6 de marzo10:00am – 2:00pm.Todos los otros que quieren apuntase las fechas son: 13 de marzo, 10 de abril y 5 de junio.

2. Do you run for fun? If you do, there’s still time to register for the “Run for Seals,” to benefit the Marine Mammal Center’s in Sausalito.  This fun 2-mile walk or 4-mile run and fundraiser is set on the Marin Headlands. Closed road loop. Family Fun Day follows at Marine Mammal Center. It’s open to all ages and dogs are welcome. Advance registration: Adults $35/person, children 12 and under $20/person, 4 and under free.  Online registration closes Mar. 9. Event date Sat., Mar. 12 7:30am – 3:00pm

3. “The Crab is Back” From their website: “The Russian River Valley Winegrowers’ annual winter fundraiser is back with a new format and name.” Sonoma County Fairgrounds, 1350 Bennett Vly. Rd., Santa Rosa. Sat., Mar. 5 5:30 – 9:00pm $55 to start/festival seating 521-2535

4. If your urge to plant is getting the best of you, join Jim Folsom for a Fireside Chat, tonight at Quarryhill Botanical Gardens. Folsom is the director of the Huntington Botanical Gardens. 12841 Sonoma Hwy., Glen Ellen. 5:00 – 7:00pm $50/person ($25 members) reservations 996-3166

5. Healdsburg High School Wrestling CIF State Championships—goooo Greyhounds! Rabobank Arena, Bakersfield.  While most of us won’t be able to take the trip—keep those four grappling ‘Hounds in mind.  See Tom Sillanpaa’s .
