Wine Country Trucks Publishing is releasing this week its newest book, “Wine Country Trucks of Napa & Sonoma Counties” by Napa resident and photographer Lisa A. Harris.
Over the past year, Harris photographed classic trucks from Napa and Sonoma counties, interviewed their owners and compiled a photographic and historic journal of her findings.
Most of these vintage vehicles are iconic winery trucks, but there are diner mascots, wrecking yard relics and everything in between.
Lively stories, scenic photos and winery trivia invite a larger audience than just classic car and truck enthusiasts.
There are a total of sixty trucks and more than 150 photos in this "coffee table" book.
One old classic entered the MBNA XV Great Race and traveled across the country using only back roads.
Another was a moonshine runner, and others can testify to the agricultural roots of the region.
The stories are as varied as the trucks, and will take you on a journey where none have gone before and is a refreshing addition to Wine Country “must-haves.”
The first book signing will be at Laird Family Estate Winery on Saturday, May 3 from noon to 3 p.m.
Other author signings will be throughout Napa and Sonoma counties in coming months and at the Father’s Day car show in Yountville.
The book will soon be available on the new Amazon/Sonoma website.
