The Pirates of Penzance

The Raven Players open their season-ending musical, The Pirates of Penzance, on June 24 at the Raven Performing Arts Theater in downtown Healdsburg with a few surprises including the acting debut of an extremely neurotic talking and singing Vulture Puppet.

Director John Degaetano has once again filled the stage with highly talented singers and dancers, including soprano Abigail Rowland as Mabel, and David Strock as her suitor, Frederic.  Alan Kafton, as Major General has the audience in stitches, and Chuck Wilson plays the Pirate King.  Les Pfutzenreuter conducts the 20 piece orchestra in superb fashion.

The Pirates of Penzance opens June 24 and runs through July 24, 2011. Tickets are available at ravenplayers.org and at all Copperfield’s Books locations. Ticket prices are $15 for the Thursday value-night performance on June 30, $20 advance/$25 at the door for seniors and students, and $26 advance/$30 at the door for adults. Show times are 8pm for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows and 2pm for Sunday matinees.
