Saturday-Sunday:

Maybe you’ve seen it, maybe not, but if you haven’t been by to check out "Twisted History: Bizarre But True,” now's your chance. Curated by Holly Hoods, "Twisted History" is an exhibition of offbeat, wacky, unusual and sometimes disturbing topics in Sonoma County history. “Offbeat” includes displays about the glamorous era of cigarette smoking, twisted beauty secrets and the pursuit of health, and Victorian death customs; “Wacky” features the silly and grotesque historical clowns known as the Squeedunks and the burning of a cabbage-headed effigy of an offensive newspaper editor; “Unusual” highlights the self-actualized young women of Healdsburg’s 1885 Albanian Literary and Military Society and other colorful local characters; and “Disturbing” delves into unsolved Crimes of the Century, including the Wickersham Murders of 1886 and the ensuing anti-Chinese backlash; the 1920 lynching of three men by 30 Healdsburg vigilantes, and the tar and feathering of labor organizers in 1935.

If you go: This twisted exhibit is free to the public Wednesday through Sunday and open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the , 221 Matheson Street in Healdsburg. The exhibit sticks around until November 10 and is recommended for visitors age 13 and up.

 

Saturday:

Jumping on the red hot phenomenon of the “Food Truck” scene, Clos du Bois Winery has partnered with Ultra Crepes to provide an afternoon of great food and croquet.  They will transform their lawn into two croquet courts allowing for simultaneous matches to take place.  While waiting to play or just being a spectator you can enjoy freshly made crepes from a local Sonoma County food truck while sipping Clos du Bois wines.  The folks at Clos du Bois encourage people to bring blankets and plan an afternoon basking in the sun.

If you go: Admission is free, crepes and wine will be available for purchase. The event is from noon to 4 p.m. at the Clos du Bois Winery, 19410 Geyserville Avenue in Geyserville.
