You are invited to the first-ever Moore Lane Open Studios from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 8 and 9).

Artists and craftsmen on Moore Lane (off North Street, behind the City Hall) will join Healdsburg Jazz in art, wine, food and music to celebrate Healdsburg's most talented dead-end street. See map.

Healdsburg Jazz (456a Moore Lane) will be rolling out the vintage t-shirts, posters, bargain CDs and more - including Jazzoom Vespa raffle tickets - to showcase their emphasis on jazz education and performance. They'll have live music and refreshments, and make a special effort to make available new, renewed or upgraded memberships to give everyone a chance to win their latest prize. See below.

Other participating merchants include jewelry from Art and All That Jazz (456b Moore Ln.), metal art from Jendala (444 Moore), glassworks by Laurence (474 Moore), the artists and designers of Studio428 (428 Moore), high-end audio at Lavish HiFi (402 Moore), and spices and teas from the Moroccan Boutique (460 Moore Ln.) Come join us this weekend at the Moore Lane Open Studios.

By the way, Lavish HiFi will be open past 5, if anyone is up for a glass of wine and live blues on electric slide guitar. At 402 Moore St., on the corner of North, Lavish is Healdsburg's new hub for high-end audio, and a welcome addition to the "arts ghetto" on Moore Lane -- two blocks west of Vine off North Street, you can't miss it.

Members - Win a "Jazz Education" for Two!

We have another reason for you to become a member of Healdsburg Jazz. Beginning Jan. 24, you can extend your education with a SSU's Extended Education class right here in town, at Villa Chanticleer. Exploring Jazz: An American Music is a six-week course led by Len Lyons, author and musician, that makes the case that Jazz is America's greatest contribution to the musical arts. See class details here.

Win this class for two by becoming a member! In conjunction with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, we're offering free enrollment for two in this class, fully tuition paid, to a lucky winner of our latest contest. Just join or renew now or upgrade your membership between now and January 15 to be entered in the drawing.

What do we mean by 'upgrade'? Just increase from your current membership status one tier to become eligible. That means $35 "Jazz Fans" need only add $15 to reach the "Jazz Friend" level and you are entered! Or renew your membership for 2013, or become a member if you haven't joined yet.

Questions? Learn about the Exploring Jazz class here, review Membership Levels here, or call our offices at 707-433-4633 for info about membership and this weekend's Moore Lane Open Studio.
