Voigt's contributions honored with Healdsburg proclamation

Celebration of life service set for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Villa Chanticleer for Al Voigt, who died May 13. Voigt's foundation contributed public artwork throughout Healdsburg and Sonoma County.

Healdsburg City Council on Monday issued a proclamation honoring the contributions of Allan Alfred Voigt, who died May 13.

Voigt and his family created the Geyserville-based Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation, which c installed throughout in Healdsburg and Sonoma County.

"The most important thing about Al was that he never looked back on his accomplishments -- he was always looking forward," said his wife Judy Voigt after accepting the proclamation Monday from Healdsburg Mayor Tom Chambers.

"He was always focusing on teamsmanship," she added. "He made sure to focus on the inclusion of everyone on the team."

Healdsburg civic volunteer Ray Holley, in a tribute published in the North Bay Business Journal, called Voigt a "Renaissance Man for the 21st Century, providing visionary and inspirational leadership while founding a series of successful technology companies, creating an art foundation and raising a family."

A celebration of Voigt's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, in the garden at in Healdsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that well-wishers help further Voigt's vision of public art by supporting the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation, a 501 (c)3 charitable organization, at 400 Breezewood Drive, Geyserville, CA 95441.
