Weekend Planner May 27-30

Are you looking for something nearby to do this Memorial Weekend? Check out some of the things on the Healdsburg Patch Events Calendar and see if there's something for you.

Yes, there's a parade on Thursday and the FFA County Fair through Sunday. But that's not all there is to do in Healdsburg this holiday weekend.

Saturday -

American Legion Post 111 presents A Small Town Goes to War: A Salute to the Bedford Boys. The first part of the performance offers music of the 1940s; the second half features a poem told by actors and veterans. The Tom Pettit-penned “The Bedford Boys: First at Omaha Beach” tells the true story of a band of friends in the town of Bedford, Virginia, who join the military together and are shipped off to Normandy, where most lost their lives in the first moments of the World War 2. Bedford lost a bigger segment of its population in that first battle than any other community in the United States. Proceeds benefit the American Legion Post 111.
