Another Healdsburg Cook Headed to 'Top Chef' TV Show

Louis Maldonado is competing on season 11 of "Top Chef."

Less than a week off the heels of Healdsburg chef Douglas Keane's victory on the Bravo TV show "Top Chef," another local cook is ready to take a crack at it.

Louis Maldonado, executive chef of Healdsburg's Spoonbar in h2hotel and Pizzando in Hotel Healdsburg, is a contestant on the upcoming 11th season of "Top Chef."

"The chef’testants will bring out their knives as they battle it out for $125,000 furnished by Healthy Choice, a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the Annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen and the title of 'Top Chef,' "  Bravo said in a press release.

Maldonado told the San Jose Mercury News the program, which has already finished taping, "was extremely surreal, very 'I can't believe I'm here!' It was pretty humbling."

The show is set in New Orleans, and begins airing 10 p.m. Wednesday on the Bravo cable channel
