Could Food be the New Focus of Healdsburg Tasting Rooms?

At least three Healdsburg wineries will soon be offering food tastings along with their wine.

A tray of crackers or a small tray of cheese isn't an unusual sight in a winery tasting room, but three Healdsburg businesses are going much further in the food category this month.

7x7 Magazine reports that Banshee, Cartograph and Jordan wines are partnering with chefs and nearby restaurants to add food to their tastings.

Banshee's first partnership will be with Shed, and will offer "shareable snacks like jars of chicken liver mousse with seasonal fruit," 7x7 writes.

Cartograph will team up with eatery Zin, "pairing its award-winning pinot noirs with the likes of deviled eggs, smoked pork chops, and produce from Zin’s own Eastside Farm," according to 7x7.

And Jordan will add a three-hour tour by reservation only of its garden, olive orchard and vineyard; the chef of the San Francisco Ritz-Carlton Hotel will serve up food, 7x7 says.

Each of these new offerings will begin this month, the magazine says.

Also, Ferrari-Carano's tasting room now features a chocolate bar, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Inside Scoop SF blog.
