For the first time, Tuesday concerts will have food stations

16-week concert series on the Plaza starts May 31; five local restaurants and catering businesses will set up stands.

For the first time, food from five local restaurants and catering businesses will be available in temporary stands during the 16 week Tuesdays in the Plaza concerts that start May 31, Healdsburg city staff said Wednesday night.

"People love the concerts, but they kept asking us, 'where's the food?'"  Matthew Thompson of the Healdsburg Parks and Recreation Department told members of the Healdsburg Parks and Recreation Commission at their public meeting Wednesday.

Thompson said the five food suppliers will set up stands along Plaza Street, which will be closed for public parking. He said he sent out letters of inquiry to all the area restaurants some weeks ago to see if they were interested in participating.
