Healdsburg Mom Grows Booth to Full-Time Antique & Gift Business

What is your business known for? Interesting decor items, one-of-a-kind eclectic gifts, handmade soaps, lotions, candles + sugar scrubs, local art, jewelry, repurposed garden art.
When and how did your business get started? I've always had an eye for design and I've always enjoyed collecting interesting vintage pieces that still have a story to tell. As a new mom five years ago, I decided to open a business that combined those two loves; a business that would afford lots of time for my son and for expressing my creativity, so I opened my first booth in an antique collective in Geyserville. Fast forward to March of this year when a friend and business acquaintance said she was losing a roommate in a space on Center Street. Healdsburg Bath & Body occupied the space and Yen Chesley, the owner, was looking for someone to share the space and I thought, "why not me?" Now eight months later, we have a wonderful space with vintage finds, recreated furniture, handmade soaps and lotions, original art and handmade jewelry, just to name a few of the great items for sale!
What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know? I personally source all of the vintage pieces, carefully picking them for the aestetic pleasure they bring to me and their stories. I do all the work on all the furniture myself, refinishing, painting, repurposing. It gives me great pleasure to breathe new life into an old piece! I also offer design services for any budget.
Why Healdsburg? Healdsburg's a great community! I moved here 15 years ago from Virginia never thinking I'd still be here after all this time, but Healdsburg is a hard place to leave! We've got great food, wine, art and most importantly a supportive community!
