Sonoma Valley Wineries Hosting 'Fantasy Boot Camp'

Three-day package includes cooking classes and wine blending seminars led by Sonoma County's top winemakers and chefs.

A group of Sonoma County winemakers is offering anyone who's ever wanted to learn more about the art of making fine wines are made a chance to get their feet wet.

Literally.

The Sonoma County Grape Camp, is offering participants to pick and stomp grapes in what organizers call "a fantasy boot camp for wine and food enthusiasts,"the Los Angeles Times reports.

The three-day package includes cooking classes and wine blending seminars led by Sonoma County's top winemakers and chefs.

Participants will harvest grapes at Sangiacomo Family Vineyards and Schug Carneros Estate and learn the art of wine blending from Greg LaFollette ofLaFollette Wines.

The Sept. 23-25 camp starts with dinner at Lynmar Estate in Sebastopol and includes accommodations at Santa Rosa's Vintners Inn.

The camp is produced by the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission, a non-profit marketing group that aims to promote and preserve Sonoma County's reputation as a world class grape-growing region.

The camps costs $2,000 per person or $3,700 for couples.
