'The Music Must Survive' Benefit Runs Saturday at Johnny's Off the Plaza

will hold a benefit dance concert Saturday with R&B band "The Remedies" to raise money for continued operations.

" is experiencing difficult times and is need of the support of our community to continue the music and fun at this magical place," said owner John Gavello.

"The Music Must Survive" benefit will run 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28. at Johnny's Off the Plaza, 60 Mill St., Healdsburg.

In addition to the music, Gavello is offering reduced prices of beer, wine, hot dogs and many free food dinner items.

Additionally, there will be several donated items for the benefit raffle beginning at midnight.

was established October 2009 with the desire to have good food, a clean restroom, "throw the peanut shells on the floor" and music for all ages, Gavello said.

"We have done that," Gavello said. " However, now we are facing difficult times.

 "We need the support of those who have told me 'This place is magical -- a place where you can relax and be yourself, sing karaoke, listen to live music at open mic or dance to live music,'" Gavello said.

"There is no other place like Johnny's, a place where you can have musical fun," he said. "I don't want to be missed!"
