Karen Peterson, Afterlife Counselor and Founder of the Karen Peterson Afterlife Institute to Offer Workshop to Recover From the Loss of a Pet

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), human grieving after the loss of a beloved pet is similar to that experienced when a close friend or family member passes away. However, often it can be hard for those grieving the loss of a pet to find support as many people may not understand how they are feeling.

“After the loss of a pet, we can go through the same stages of grief as we would with any loss,” comments Karen Peterson, afterlife counselor, and the founder of the Karen Peterson Afterlife Institute in Santa Rosa, California. “I host events to help those grieving find answers to their questions, connect and find peace with their loss.”

Peterson regularly holds events that focus specifically on working with those who have lost a cherished pet. At these events, Peterson comforts pet owners and connects with their pets who have passed on, offering ways they can keep them a part of our lives even after they are gone.
