Get Out Your Hiking Shoes: Tours Set to Spur iWalk Challenge

A series of walks at the county's network of public parks are set. The tours are part of this year's iWalk challenge — geared towards getting residents off the couch and more active.

Spring into spring! The public is invited to a series of wildflower hikes throughout Sonoma County, geared toward promoting health and fitness in each community. The hikes — starting March 24 through May 12 — are free.

The hikes are part of a countywide effort dubbed the "iWalk Challenge," urging communities to get at least 150 minutes of exercise each week. Go here for more information about the iWalk challenge.

Organizers said hikers can expect to see colorful blooms in parks from Petaluma to Windsor and learn more about local wildflowers from volunteers.
