Jarrod Miller Sentenced to 50 Years to Life for First Degree Murder

Cloverdale resident convicted in March of first-degree murder of Tim Neuer

Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced today that , 30, of Cloverdale, was sentenced today to serve 50 years to life in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for the murder of , 29.

In a statement from office of the district attorney, Ravitch stated: “In choosing to take a friend’s life so violently, the defendant brought tragedy to two families. The sentence is appropriate for this heinous act”

On March 1, 2012, a of First Degree Murder and the personal use of a firearm in the commission of the crime, as well as residential burglary.  Amanda, and a friend in the residence, John Parent, established that Miller entered the home with a loaded firearm and shot Timothy Neuer three times. Mr. Neuer and Ms. Miller had allowed the defendant to reside with them for a few months, but had recently informed him he was no longer welcome.

Family members of both Miller and Neuer filled the courtroom, where two videos depicting photographs of the victim were played, and a letter written by Amanda Miller was read.

Deputy District Attorney Scott Jamar was co-counsel with District Attorney Ravitch, and they were assisted by District Attorney Investigator Tim Dempsey. Sonoma County Violent Crimes Detective Brandon Cutting was the lead investigator for the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
