Create a Wildlife Garden

Join us at Pepperwood for
a class on making your garden wildlife-friendly on Saturday, September 28, 2013
from 9am to 3pm at Pepperwood Preserve. The
class costs $30 and is suitable for ages 14 and up. Register online by searching for “Pepperwood” at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Learn how to enhance the habitat value of your garden by
creating year-round resources that will attract a diversity of birds,
pollinators and other wildlife species. Nancy Bauer, author of The California Wildlife Habitat Garden
and Charlotte
Torgovitsky, habitat garden educator, will introduce participants to Bay
Area wildlife gardens, seasonal native plants, and the types of wildlife they
attract. Utilizing the new Pepperwood Demonstration Garden and nearby trails,
learn about suitable native plants and then participate in a hands-on
propagation demonstration.

Nancy Bauer is a free-lance editor, garden writer and
wildlife habitat gardener based in Sonoma County who has been teaching and
writing about wildlife habitat gardening for the past 12 years. Charlotte Torgovitsky is a naturalist, long-time organic gardener,
and habitat garden educator. She is founder of Home Ground Habitat Nursery, a
non-profit volunteer-powered native plant nursery in Novato.
