Dance Performance '(un)tied' -World Premier

Join Healdsburg's own UPside Dance Company for its bold new dance performance,  ‘(un)tied’,  an exploration of  life’s  attachments  to objects, people, and relationships.   On September 28th at 4pm, the company will collaborate with 100 Thousand Poets for Change international festival and take over the Arlene Francis Center to debut the world premier of (un)tied -- a dance performance like nothing you’ve experienced!

UPside Dance co-directors, Kate Ahumada and Tanya Tolmasoff, bring Contemporary Dance to unconventional spaces .  Particularly unique to this project,  the audience will travel from room to room experiencing each part of the performance in an intimate way.  UPside’s expressive choreography coupled with multi-media design installations will transform the venue and weave the audience into the fabric of ‘(un)tied’.

This Site specific performance draws inspiration from the remarkable mission of 100 Thousand Poets for Change: using poetry to promote social and political change.  UPside presents ‘(un)tied’ to illuminate the universal question of ‘attachments’ in the non-verbal poetry of dance.   Enter this world of interactive dance and experience a reflective journey, and perhaps discover which of your 'strings of attachment' can be... untied…
