Calling All Water Dogs and Their Humans!
Spring Lake Park's swimming hole, beach open for off-leash dogs Sept. 8-9.
The swimming lagoon at Spring Lake Regional Park turns into an off-leash dog park for the weekend of Sept. 8 and 9. All well-behaved dogs are invited to romp on the beach and play in the water from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.
This event is sponsored by the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation, which requests donations of $3 per dog for Regional Park members and $5 per dog for non-members. All proceeds benefit the Foundation, which supports Regional Parks’ programs and operations.

The first 250 dogs each day will get a free, dog-safe flying disc courtesy of Anderson Acres Canine Guest Ranch. Dogs will also enjoy free treats donated by Western Farm Center. Dog owners can enter a raffle for prizes like dog-grooming gift certificates, pet-themed gift baskets, Regional Parks’ Grateful Dead T-shirts and other prizes. Tickets are $3 each or 4 for $10.
The new Lakeside Grill next to the lagoon will be open both days and offering a “Water Bark” special: any hand-tossed pizza and a glass of wine for $10.

Parking near the lagoon is accessed through Spring Lake Park’s Violetti Road entrance and is free for members and $7 for non-members.
Due to health regulations, only dogs are allowed to swim at this event.
Note: The swimming lagoon is treated with chlorine and was not affected by the algae bloom at Spring Lake earlier this summer.
