Raves: What Do You Love About Healdsburg?

Here's your chance to dish out praise to the many sweet people, places and moments in town.

A couple days ago, You responded, saying the speeding side-street traffic -- particularly at North and Fitch -- was horrendous, that off-leash dogs outside of the dog parks are scary and that people who leave their garbage cans out on the street for days at a time need to get themselves back on track.

This week, we're turning to a more positive note, and wondering — what makes you happy and proud to live this community? Give us your raves!

For example, I love, love, love our library. Even though the library has reduced its hours, which is inconvenient, the library staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, especially the children's section reference librarians. Roses to you.

I also can't get enough of the parks and beautiful residential streets here — perfect for a stroll with or without the visiting pup.

When was the last time you took a moment to praise someone for a good deed, or yelled out to tell everyone how impressed you are with someone?

Not feeling all that positive and you’d rather sound off on what’s bothering you? No worries, we have a forum for that as well, just go and join in that conversation.

What do I love about Healdsburg? The open-hearted, generous community. Coming together to work for the good of the community in large projects and small from the grandstands' restoration to Foss Creek's restoration. I like going to the store and always finding family and friends, and, if occasionally, I don't run into family or friends, I find the friendliest people and helpful clerks. We have many, many stores with owners and clerks dedicated to excellent customer service. People say hello passing on the street and they smile when they say hello. We have a most-beautiful Plaza that is utilized by numerous fund-raising groups throughout the year. I love the Healdsburg Farmers' Market and wish it were open all year 'round. Our parks are beautiful. A river runs through us and we've learned to play in it again. We saved the bridge. There isn't space enough to write about every single thing I love about Healdsburg because I don't have enough characters left! What's not to like about Healdsburg? The fact that commenters have found more to rant about than rave about. That forums for public comment end up serving more the purpose of the negative than the positive. Hey folks, how about counting blessings and becoming the light that we all can see? I love living in Healdsburg--the community's people (even those I disagree with), its beauty and the beauty of the surrounding area. We have much to be grateful for, living in this gorgeous piece of paradise!

Hello All, I just wanted to let you know about a wonderful art class I attended here in Healdsburg taught by German born Artist Sargam Griffin. There were five ladies in the class for four Saturday mornings in March. We had a delightful time learning to paint. For anyone interested in joining upcoming classes Sargam can be contacted at: sargam.artdoors@gmail.com
