Support Your Local Blogger in Wine Blog Awards

Several local winery blogs are in the national competition, including Jordan's "new media" nominee

If there’s one thing we know in the wine country, it’s wine. And if there’s one thing we know at Patch, it’s blogging. (Have you started one yet?)

So it’s only appropriate that Healdsburg Patch gives a shout-out to “Journey of Jordan,” the Jordan blog, which has made the finals in two categories of this year’s Wine Blog Awards, for Best Photo/Video and Best Winery Blog.

It’s up against some pretty stiff competition, as a random review of some of the other candidates reveals. That competition includes the blog from off-spring J Vineyards, “Half Full.”

Then there’s Ridge Vineyard’s 4488, chronicling the Lytton Ridge winery, which also has a presence in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Those and the other nominees in several categories – eight of them, from “Best Blog Post of the Year” to “Best Overall” – are worth exploring not only for the topic but the technology.

In the "Journey of Jordan," for instance, they’re developing a year-long time-lapse video, “Life Cycle of a Grapevine.” The one-minute video on bud-break is a promising introduction.

Patch encourages readers to check these nominees out and vote for your favorite. Winners are based on quantity of votes and judge scores, so the wineries are trying to rock the votes this week.

Deadline to vote is this Friday at midnight in the Wine Blog Awards, “Recognizing Excellence in New Media.” (Here’s the voting link.)
