HHS Blood Drive and REIBT This Week

General update for HHS as of 12/2/11

General Information

  • High school students are needed to help volunteer on December 10th at the annual Rotary Club Crab Feed. Community service hours will be given.
  • The Healdsburg High School Blood Drive will be on December 7th. 
  • See The Dark Side of Chocolate and listen to speaker Ray Bllestero on December 14th in room 67 at 7pm. Free for students and $5 for adults. 
  • Saint Misbehavin', the Wavy Gravy story will be showing at the Community Center on Thursday at 7:30 for free. 
  • There are job opportunities on the job board across from the Career Center for students who are looking for a job. 
  • Upward Bound is now accepting applications from 9th and 10th grade students! For more information, check the daily bulletin. 
  • REIBT rally will be held December 9th. All are welcome to come and watch this rally/ lip sync dances. This sets off the REIBT tournament for basketball players and the freshmen will be preparing the REIBT pasta feed dinner on December, 9th starting at 5:30. Tickets are sold in the main office. 

College Information

  • Earn a scholarship by entering the Martin Luther King Oratory Contest. Prepare a speech of 5-8 minutes on the theme of Freedom and Dignity for All People and deliver it at the Career Center after school on December 7th. The winners will represent Healdsburg High in a county-wide competition. 
  • The Marines will do a presentation on their ROTC and Marching Band Programs. Students are able to sign up on the Career Center door if interested. 
  • Students who are interested in taking a GAP year after high school are able to listen to a presentation about a program called Leap Now. Sign up on the Career Center Door. 
  • Students who are interested in the field of hospitality will be able to listen to Les Roches from Switzerland. Sign up on the Career Center door if interested.

Sports

  • There will be a fan bus transporting students to the football game tomorrow, Saturday, December 3rd, leaving at 10am. Sign ups are available at the student store. It will cost $10, which includes ride, pom pom and foam paw.
  • The annual football awards banquet will be held this Monday evening beginning at 6:30pm at the Villa. This is both for JV and varsity players and their families. Remember this is a formal occasion and players are expected to wear ties. 
  • Wanted: Greyhound Mascot. If any students are interested in representing the Greyhound, please contact Hanna Inman or Aiden Kozel.
