George Fiddler, a World War II veteran bron in Healdsburg and raised in Woodland, died Nov. 8 at the age of 90.

Mamie B. Hale, a 50-year Sonoma County resident and former caretaker of the Maacama Creek Ranch in the Alexander Valley, died Oct. 30 at the age of 88.

Barbara McConnell, a San Francisco native who worked in the Healdsburg School District from 1978 until her retirement in 1993, died Oct. 29 at the age of 84.

Harry M. Briggs, the founder of Healdsburg-based Briggs Company in the 1970s, died Oct. 22 at the age of 93.

Ralph Sandborn, a Healdsburg native who helped establish the University Avenue baseball field, died recently (no date was given) at the age of 93. He worked for 44 years at Manzana Products Co., Inc., in Sebastopol.
