Santa Rosa Woman Dies in Tragic Fall From Zipline In Hawaii

Patricia "Trish" Rabellizsa, 29, studied art and design at Santa Rosa Junior College.

A Santa Rosa woman died Thursday when she fell from a zipline at Piiholo Ranch Zipline in Makawao, Hawaii.

Maui police Lt. William Juan identified the woman as 29-year-old Patricia Rabellizsa, of Kihei, an employee of Piiholo Ranch Zipline.

Rabellizsa's Facebook page lists her as a Santa Rosa resident who studied art and design at Santa Rosa Junior College.

Juan said the Maui Fire Department responded to the incident and reported Rabellizsa fell 150 feet from a zipline.

Maui police responded around 9:50 a.m. to a report that someone had fallen from the zipline, Juan said. Rabellizsa was pronounced dead at the scene. Her cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Piiholo Ranch Zipline was not returning calls this morning, but did release a statement Thursday about Rabellizsa's death.

"The Piihola Zipline Ohana expresses its condolences and sympathy to those involved in today's tragic event," the statement said.

"We especially offer our deepest aloha and prayers to the family and friends of our co-worker Patricia 'Trish' Rabellizsa at this difficult time. We are working in full cooperation with the Maui Police Department's on going investigation."
