Who Is Healdsburg's Person of the Year?

Whose contributions make our community a better place?

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named Barack Obama as their Person of the Year

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including Barack Obama, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle.

What about a person in our town who has made a valuable contribution to our community during 2012 and who deserves to be recognized?

Even though 2013 has already started, it's not too late to look back and appreciate someone who helped make Healdsburg the gem of a town that it is for all of us.

I would propose Jerry Eddinger. He has done the shelter in the plaza and the baseball seating. If something needs to get done in Healdsburg Jerry is the first to stand and be counted. If someone needs help he is also the first to step up and get the work down without any consideration of payment. He and his family represent the very best of Healdsburg. Sincerely, Vernon Simmons

I nominate Robert Weiss who works tirelessly for Healdsburg Center for the Arts, and brought the first film festival to Healdsburg in 2012!!!

Robert Weiss, one of the founders of the Healdsburg International Short Film Festival should definitely be the person of the year for spearheading the birth of this amazing international cultural event in 2012. With his efforts, films from over 20 countries were shown to the community with filmmakers attending from Iran, Argentina, Russian, and all over California. Hundreds and hundreds of people came to enjoy the films. Robert Weiss helped secure important sponsors from the county such as Supervisor Mike McGuire and Healdsburg's H2 Hotel. By all accounts, the festival was a major hit with the residents and we thank Robert Weiss for helping bring this event to Healdsburg and the county.

Speaking of Mike McGuire (see Kirk Demorest, above), what about his work to bring people together to allow the Fitch Mountain Park acquisition to become reality? I'm just sayin'....

Jerry,Mary Lou and their family have been there for the town and people in need for as long as I have lived in healdsburg (40 years). Most is unknown to the public. We are lucky to have a family like them.

These offices look great! I would love to have taken a look, but I don't live close enough to theRead More area. I was looking for spaces out in Toronto, and started looking at for office space for rent via http://www.theprofessionalcentre.com. But, again, your spaces look really nice, affordable, and would have done the job well. :)
