UPDATE: Truck Driver in Fatal Crash ID'd As Calpine Employee

Truck goes down embankment at about 8 a.m., CHP says.

NOTE: This article was updated at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, to identify the crash victim.

A Calpine official identified 57-year-old Corky Bracisco, an operating specialist, as the employee who was found dead today in his work truck at the company's The Geysers facility in Sonoma County.

The crash was reported at 8:09 a.m. near Big Sulphur Creek Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Marc Johnston said.

The truck was found 200 feet down an embankment at The Geysers geothermal plant that straddles Sonoma and Lake counties.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the death and investigators were still at the scene this afternoon, Cal/OSHA spokeswoman Patricia Ortiz said.

CHP Officer Jon Sloat said Bracisco was supposed to attend a meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday but did not show up.

"The cause of death is not known at this time, and we are working closely with local authorities to investigate the incident," Calpine's vice president of corporate communications Norma Dunn said.

Calpine expressed condolences and sympathies to Bracisco's family.
