Accident on Old Redwood Hwy. at Airport Closes Road
A black Mercedes apparently lost control and struck a power pole and fire hydrant, causing danger on the highway
Old Redwood Highway remains closed north of Santa Rosa this afternoon because of a crash in which a car hit a power pole and a fire hydrant, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The black Mercedes hit the pole and hydrant near Airport Boulevard around 1:45 p.m., spilling water on the road, CHP officials said.
The CHP estimated the road would be closed for five hours because of downed power lines. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
