Autopsy Set for Friday on Woman Who Died in Burned Motor Home

Investigators decline comment on cause of fire.

Sonoma County Coroner's Office has scheduled an autopsy Friday on the elderly woman whose body was found in a burned motor home Wednesday north of Healdsburg.

Healdsburg Fire Marshal Linda Collister said Thursday she will wait until the autopsy results come back before commenting on the cause of the fire or whether it was an accident or the result of foul play.

"I don't want to say that it appears to be accident and then something comes back on the body [that indicates otherwise]," Collister said.

Sonoma County Fire Capt. Steve Maciurchak, who is leading the fire investigation, also declined specific comment Thursday. Maciurchak said he was waiting for word from the Sonoma County Sheriff's investigators who are also working on the case.

"We have no conclusions to announce at the moment," Maciurchak said. "We're waiting for reports back from the sheriff's office."

According to the Press Democrat, Sheriff's Dept. Lt. Dennis Leary said the county was investigating the case, even though there did not appear to be signs of foul play.  To read that story, click here.

Police and fire investigators also declined comment on the identity of the woman.
