Big-Rig Spills Compost on Highway 128 Near Healdsburg

Both directions of the highway were closed temporarily.

A big-rig overturned and spilled compost on state Highway 128 east of Healdsburg Friday morning, prompting lane closures on the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP reported the accident involving a truck at about 9 a.m. on state Highway 128 near Briggs Ranch Road.

One of the big-rig's two trailers was on its side, CHP officials said.

The westbound lane of the highway was reopened at 10:45 a.m., and the eastbound lane remained blocked as of late Friday morning. Both lanes have since reopened.
