Body Found in Russian River Near Guerneville

The victim hasn't yet been identified.

Two fishermen found a man's body in the Russian River west of Guerneville Tuesday morning, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

The fishermen were floating down the river when they saw the body tangled in brush on the north side of the river near the 1600 block of state Highway 116, sheriff's officials said.

Deputies were called to the scene at 10:40 a.m. The body appears to be that of an adult male of an unknown race, and it is not known how long it was in the river, according to the sheriff's office.

The cause of the man's death has not been determined.
