Busy Morning on 101 NB Between Windsor and Healdsburg

Two crashes within minutes of each other back up traffic.

Two separate crashes blocked traffic on northbound U.S. Highway
101 in Sonoma County late this morning and early this afternoon.

Two vehicles and a motorcycle were involved in the first accident,
which was reported around 11:55 a.m. just south of Healdsburg Avenue. One of the vehicles reportedly overturned and went off the highway, according to preliminary CHP information.

A second accident happened about 100 yards away a short time
later, north of Arata Lane near Windsor.

A Sig-alert was issued at 12:18 p.m.

A traffic backup ensued, and some drivers were driving the wrong
way onto the Old Redwood Highway on-ramp, backing up and making illegal U-turns to get off the highway, according to the CHP.

Northbound U.S. Highway 101 reopened at 12:45 p.m.
