Coroner ID's Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

Kevin Kight of Healdsburg died in crash near Windsor.


A motorcyclist who late Monday afternoon in unincorporated Sonoma County near Windsor has been identified by the Sonoma County coroner's office as Kevin Ralph Kight, 44, of Healdsburg.

Kight was traveling east on Sweetwater Springs Road, just west of Westside Road, when he lost control of his red 1988 BMW motorcycle at about 4:45 p.m., CHP Officer Dave Thomas said.

Sweetwater Springs Road bends left just prior to Westside Road, and that's where Kight lost control of his motorcycle, entered a ditch, and was ejected from the bike, Thomas said.

Rescue workers attempted to resuscitate Kight, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Thomas said it is unknown if Kight was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

The CHP is continuing to investigate, he said.
