Countywide Sweep Leads to 8 Arrests, 35 Searches

The sweep was funded by a state grant from last year.

A 28-officer sweep funded by a state grant Wednesday ended with eight arrests around Sonoma County.

The operation was intended to check on people considered high-risk to reoffend, felons with outstanding warrants, people on post-release community supervision with outstanding warrants, and more, according to a press release from the Petaluma Police Department.

Here are the people arrested, according to the press release:

"Kristine Burgess (35 years old, Petaluma area) was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale, child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance (morphine), and violation of probation. Denise Hoch (47 years old) was arrested at the same residence for possession of methamphetamine for sale.

"Pia Succi (48 years old, Santa Rosa area) was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

"Edward Sirchuk (27 years old, Santa Rosa area) was arrested for illegal possession of a hypodermic needle, a warrant, and violation of probation.


"Liam Buckley (46 years old, Santa Rosa area) was arrested for an outstanding warrant.


"Angel Glenn (22 years old, Santa Rosa area) was arrested for violation of a court order.


"Michael Hilburn (29 years old, Cotati/Rohnert Park area) was arrested for possessing concentrated cannabis.


"Robert Creighton (22 years old, Cotati/Rohnert Park area) was arrested for possession of child pornography."

Participating in the sweep were officers from police departments in Cotati, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Sonoma, Rohnert Park; and from the California Highway Patrol and county probation department.

They conducted 35 searches, attempted 20 more, performed one traffic stop, and submitted two weapons and -possession cases to the county district attorney for review.

The operation was funded by a 2012 state grant for $171,126.
