UPDATE: Cyclist in Fatal Crash with Healdsburg Driver ID'd

Man reportedly was riding at night without lights or a helmet.

A bicyclist died in a traffic collision with a Healdsburg motorist near the Russian River in unincorporated Sonoma County late Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Sonoma County Coroner identified the cyclist late Friday as 34-year-old David Standley of Santa Rosa.

CHP officers responded to the collision at 11:56 p.m. on Old River
Road west of Scenic Drive in Hollydale.

Standley was hit by a Lexus SUV and suffered fatal injuries in the crash, CHP said.

The driver of the Lexus cooperated with investigators and was not
arrested.

According to an article in the Press Democrat, the Lexus driver was a Healdsburg woman, Gail Loschiavo. The newspaper said the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet and had no light on the bicycle.
