Dillon Beach Homicide Victim, 19, ID'd, Had Ties to Guerneville

Stachaun Jackson, a 19-year-old man with ties to Dillon Beach and Guerneville, has been identified as the victim in the March 20 Dillon Beach homicide, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office coroner.

Ken Neville, 56, of Dillon Beach, remains in custody at the Marin County Jail in connection with the shooting death of Jackson, police said.

Neville was one of two men detained by deputies after the fatal shooting in the Lawson's Landing campground early Thursday morning.

Deputies responded around 2:30 a.m. to a report of a disturbance at a trailer, sheriff's Lt. Jamie Scardina said.

While en route, the deputies learned one person was shot by an occupant of the trailer, Scardina said.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, Scardina said.

The victim and and the two detained men were believed to be acquaintances, Scardina said at the time.

Several handguns were recovered at the scene, he said.
