Downed Power Pole Snarls Highway 116 Traffic

The incident left approximately 3,900 Russian River Valley customers without power.

A downed power pole has blocked the roadway of state Highway 116 in unincorporated Sonoma County this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The downed pole was reported at 2:35 a.m. on Highway 116 in the area of Guernewood Lane and Riverside Drive, just outside of Guerneville, the CHP said.

The upper part of the pole is hanging across the roadway and power lines are down, according to the CHP.

Roughly 3,900 customers in that area are without power this morning, according to PG&E. The outage is expected to be resolved around 6:45 a.m., according to PG&E.
