Bay City News Service

With many Bay Area residents expected to watch the San Francisco 49ers take on the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl today, law enforcement are beefing up patrols to keep the roads safe. DUI taskforces in Santa Clara and Sonoma counties will be deployed throughout the areas to stop and arrest any offenders, according to the taskforce.

Anyone attending a Super Bowl party is advised to designate a sober driver; avoid drinking too much alcohol too fast; never let friends drive drunk; always buckle up; and if you have no ride, call a cab.

Anyone hosting a Super Bowl party is asked to make sure all guests who leave are either sober or have a sober driver with them; don't allow anyone under 21 to drink; call a cab for anyone who doesn't have a ride; and serve plenty of food and non-alcoholic drinks.
