Exchange Bank Robbery Suspects Apprehended

Healdsburg police arrest 2 Cloverdale suspects.

 

A Cloverdale man and woman are in custody on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to rob the

arrested Richard Lee McCormick, 23, of Cloverdale on suspicion of robbery shortly after the incident, which occurred just before 11 a.m. today. State parole officials also placed a parole hold on the McCormick  for violation of his parole terms.

Police later arrested Desica Doke, 41, of Cloverdale on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

According to Healdsburg Police, they received a 9-1-1 call at 10:59 a.m. reporting a robbery that had just occurred at Exchange Bank, 1031 Vine St.

 Officers responded and arrived on scene two minutes later.
According to a witness, a white male in his 20s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball hat, came into the bank and presented a “demand” note for money, police said.

No weapons were mentioned or seen during the robbery, police said. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Initial information indicated that a white male adult had fled the area on foot, according to police. Shortly after officers’ arrival, a witness stated that she saw the suspect get into a white Mercedes and leave westbound on Mill Street.

The witness was able to provide the officers with a license plate number for the vehicle.

With the assistance of Cloverdale Police Department, the vehicle was located coming into Cloverdale at 11:52 a.m., Healdsburg police said.

The driver was detained until Healdsburg officers were able to arrive on scene. A positive identification of the suspect was made using video surveillance provided by the bank.
