UPDATED: Marin Woman Killed in Head-On; Fatal Crash West of Sebastopol

UPDATED: Friday, April 4, 10:20 p.m.

A Marin County woman was killed tonight in a head-on collision west of Sebastopol, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Lynne Forester, 70, of Tomales, was driving east on Bodega Highway near Furlong Road around 4:15 p.m. when she veered across the double yellow lines while negotiating a curve, according to CHP Officer Marcus Hawkins.

She collided head-on with a westbound 2008 Chevy Silverado driven by Catherine Beck, 62, of Bodega Bay, Hawkins said.

Forester was taken to Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Hawkins said.

Alcohol is not thought to be a contributing factor in this collision, but the road was wet from recent rain, Hawkins said.
