Firefighters extricate car stuck in vineyard

Incident Friday involves 86-year-old driver.

A vehicle was extricated from a vineyard alongside a road in unincorporated Geyserville on Friday morning, after a victim became trapped
inside.

At about 10:30 a.m., firefighters from Geyserville and Healdsburg fire departments assisted emergency officials in freeing an 86-year-old victim that became stuck inside her car that had rolled on its side on Dry Creek Road, Geyserville Fire Marshall Linda Collister said in a statement.

Authorities tore off the roof of the vehicle to remove the victim, Collister said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed not to be life-threatening, Collister said.

The extrication and stabilization tools used to rescue the victim were purchased with a grant from the state's Office of Traffic and Safety, administered by the Windsor Fire District, according to Collister.
