Healdsburg High offers counseling to classmates of 15-year-old boy who died
Principal Chris Vanden Heuvel sends letter to parents.
is offering counseling services to the school community Thursday in the at a home on Kennedy Lane.
"With much sadness, I am writing to share with you that we tragically lost an HHS student this week," Healdsburg High School Principal Chris Vanden Heuvel said in a letter to parents Wednesday.
"Out of concern for our students and the youth of the Healdsburg community, we have invited Sutter Hospice to be available for anyone who needs support during this time," he added.

Vanden Heuvel said any students feeling the need to talk, share, or simply to be together may come to Healdsburg High School from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday.
"Those wanting to participate can simply check in at the HHS Main Office," Vanden Heuvel said.

Vanden Heuvel said students and parents may also contact various counseling services directly.

are withholding the name of the boy because he is a minor. Police also have not confirmed the cause of death; however, they said Tuesday that foul play is not suspected.
Sonoma County Coroner's staff said Wednesday they are conducted a death investigation, but that any announcements on the cause of death would have to come from police.
