The Sonoma County coroner's office has identified the woman who was killed in a solo vehicle crash near Geyserville Wednesday as 50-year-old Tammy Jo Murphy of Healdsburg.
Murphy was driving a 2-door Toyota Yaris hatchback on Pine Flat Road in unincorporated Sonoma County around 9:50 a.m. when she drove off the road, Lt. James Tovani of the Geyserville Fire Protection District said.
A witness told investigators Murphy had been speeding through the intersection of Pine Flat Road and state Highway 128, Tovani said.
When the car drove off the road and through a ditch it overturned at least twice and landed in a vineyard at the Ferrari-Carano Winery and Vineyard, Tovani said.
Murphy was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, Tovani said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:01 a.m.
The Geyserville and Healdsburg fire departments and California Patrol responded to the crash, the dispatcher said.
The Wednesday accident comes within a day of a Napa woman, 26, who died in a head-on crash Tuesday morning on the Silverado Trail.
